Vedder To Tour Solo

by

eddie-vedderEddie Vedder — known best as frontman for Pearl Jam – has revealed details of a tour this summer.

Beginning in Albany, NY on June 8, the 14-date tour is scheduled to play fourteen dates in the South and East (stateside) and make a stop in Hawaii to close the tour on July 2nd.

Liam Finn, who also ran support on Vader’s first solo tour last year, is confirmed to play the main support for all 14 dates.

Oh, yeah … he’s also been booked for a guest appearance on the upcoming new LP from Rolling Stones guitarist, Ron Wood – one that’s entitled More Good News.

COBAIN REMEMBERED

It was fifteen years ago Wednesday that garage-rock icon Kurt Cobain was found dead — according to the coroner’s report, a suicide brought on by pills and heroin.

But a hero is a hero, no matter what the genre — and thousands paid their respects near Kurt’s Lake Washington home.

kurt-cobain-4Unfortunately, the day also brought anger from Kurt’s widow, actress/singer Courtney Love. Although Cobain’s estate was worth millions, she said,“managers, assistants, CPAs, lawyers, people like that who were supposed to be entrusted with carrying for their well-being and finances basically looted the estate.”

And, as with any small town, Cobain and his band, Nirvana, wasn’t seen in a favorable light … until recently, when city fathers “adopted” the title of one of his hits to welcome visitors. When you come into his hometown of Aberdeen, Washington, you’ll see a sign that says “Come As You Are.”
And now there are plans to build a youth center in his honor where kids can come to play music and follow their artistic interests.  Today (Friday), a concert’s to be held in Seattle to honor Kurt and raise money for the center.

Okay … that’s all for now.  See ya on the flip side.
